- The flag pictures three equal vertical strips of black, red, and green, with a white/gold (in this on its white) emblem centered on the red strip
- According to Ancient and Heraldic traditions much symbolism is associated with colors. The colors on the Afghanistan flag represent the following:
RED - hardiness, bravery, strength
GREEN - hope, joy and love

- The center emblem is the classical Emblem of Afghanistan, one of a mosque with it's Mihrab facing Mecca. Mecca is the capital of Arabia. The person who prays must face Mecca is they are from Islam.
- They have changed the flag a lot because of it keeps being attacked and changing rulers.
